Predicting chemical compositions in Greenland with remote sensing data application and machine learning

 

 

My latest project was my master thesis at Aarhus University in collaboration with a danish mineral exploration company.

 

The project consist of systematically predicting a specific type of mineralization in a part of South East Greenland. This is achieved by combining geological field data with remote sensing data, such as Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, aeromagnetic geophysical maps, gravity maps and structural geology maps. This data is then examined through multiple machine learning algorithms. The goal was to construct a model, capable of predicting mineralization in regions with no current geochemical data. 

The thesis was presented and defended in June of 2019.

I currently hold a Masters degree in Geoscience at Aarhus University
